Ms. Jokudu Esther Story
Ms. Jokudu aged 25 a South Sudanese refugee living in Imvepi settlement and a mother of one child is one of the beneficiary youth who benefited from the upskilling project under the second cohort.
. Her husband ran back to South Sudan leaving her a helpless mother in the settlement.
In order to earn a living and look after her family, she picked interest in TGC and was trained by AVSI where she attained some basic skills in tailoring with little knowledge of some fashions like trousers, suites, and shorts. This made her earn less than 20,000 per week as profit from her sales.
When she heard of adverts from friends about WENIPS looking for youth and women to apply for upskilling
under a project funded by the European Union Trust Fund through Enabel, she was one of the youths who applied and was successful.
She was attached to God is There Tailoring Worksop) to bridge her skills gaps. She now makes sales of 80,000-100,000 in a day since she is one of the few tailors in Imvepi market having many customers
making her a happy mother because now she can afford to look after her family as an independent woman.
